abbi & lucy got a container of popcorn for christmas. luke was “helping” them enjoy it.
luke has been having so much fun up here with the girls. he will really be upset when we have to go home.
when i got the diaper bag put out of the car yesterday to bring in to church, i discovered that the wipes were frozen solid.
who wants to wipe their baby’s bum with a frozen wipe?
luckily brooke had some i could use.
my mom got jeff a new game for christmas. ses-qui-pe-del-ian. i learned 2 things :
1.) jeff said that my mom is titivatious.
2.) amy’s family was pediculous at grandma nevada’s house.
lab results are in…
i got a call from the nurse at the urgent care last night. the test results showed that sara had a UTI.
so, we are supposed to scedule an appointment with her pcp to see if she still has it or not.
how many times does my baby need to be seen by a dr in 1 week?
enough already!! she’s been through enough.
but, i am glad that she only has a UTI.
on tueday night, around 9 pm, i took sara’s temperature- 103.3. (she had felt really warm for 24 hours prior, but i just thought she was teething or something) so i called the pediatricians office. when the dr on call called me back, he recommended that i take her in just based on her high fever.
what i thought is that she might have an ear infection. she is the same age as luke when he had his and, to me, she was showing normal signs of one.
anyway, we took her in around 10. NO ear infection. they did a nose swab to test for the flu. NEGATIVE. so they did a heel prick to get a blood sample. a few minutes later three nurses come rushing in followed by the dr. her white blood cell count is 27- (it should be between 3.5-10). they said they wanted to take another blood sample-this time from her arms- AND a urine sample-with a cathedar (sp). OUCH!
they also gave her a shot of antibiotics and said that she needed three doses of the shot. so we had to go back for two more nights.
we got home from around 1 am. sara did not sleep well that night and we were going to tucson on wednesday to help fix jeff’s friend’s car. (don’t worry- we got the ok from the dr) she did not go to sleep til 2, and woke up at 5. i took her temperature-104.1- and gave her some motrin. i asked jeff to give her a blessing, so he called the elders quorum president to come over. her fever went down almost immediately, and finally went to sleep around 6:30 0r 7 and woke up at 8:30.
she never has had a fever since. but, she has had and did have a REALLY runny nose.
the results from her blood and urine samples will take about 5 days to come back.
when i took her in on wednesday night, they did another heel prick. the dr said that if he was not satisfied with those results, he was going to send us to the E.R. her white blood cell count had dropped to 16.9. WHEW!-no e.r. they gave her another shot of antibiotics. this dr told me to try and get her pediatricians office to give her the last shot.
the next day, thursday, i had made an appointment for sara. her pediatrcian was out for the week. BUMMER! (i really prefer seeing him) whatever- this was urgent. the dr that we saw said that we neede to get both the seasonal flu shot AND the H1N1 for BOTH kids. she gave sara her last shot even though she didn’t think it would help.
so now we just wait…….
on friday, we went to see ho-ho (santa claus) at grandma’s school. we have seen him there for the last 3 years.
luke has cried all 3 years and will not sit on ho-ho’s lap. sara, on the other hand, could have cared less. she pulled on santa’s beard a little
the photo class took pictures. i will post those as soon as i get them.
there was also a coloring table set up. and milk and cookies. santas favorite.
last week my nieces, amber & kelci, came down to spend thanksgiving with their other grandma who lives in mesa. they came out on tuesday and spent the day with us.
when we first got together, we went to lunch at islands. then we stopped by old navy just to browse. amber & kelci were pretty tired from driving all night the night before, so they came back to my house to take a nap. we all went to institute that night.
thanks for spending time with us. come back soon!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELODY!!
hope you had a GREAT day.
thanks for being the awesome friend that you are.
you’re the best!!
when we went out this afternoon, i picked up my phone to call my mom & noticed i had a message. i called to get it. it was our apartment complex asking us to call them when we could. since we were already in the car, we decided to swing by the office and i would run in to see what they wanted.
our first thought was “oh no, what’s wrong?” Anyway, as i was getting out of the car, i told jeff that i entered us in a drawing earlier this month for a turkey dinner that our apartment was doing. no way could that possibly be the reason they called.
i walked in the office and they said that we won the drawing.
what? are you
serious?
we now have a thanksgiving feast. (not that we need to make thanksgiving dinner) but, now we will & we will have lots of turkey sandwiches. we like turkey.
we got all of this:
an 18 lb. turkey all for us. sweet.
santa is already at the malls. wow!!
luke wnted to go see ho-ho (santa) at the mall yesterday. he doesn’t go sit on his lap or anything. he just likes to look & wave from a distance.
i know the pictures are not the best- sorry. we were upstairs looking down to santa. and i didn’t have my “good” camera.
luke was waving between the glass. santa did at one point look up and wave. but, of course luke won’t wave back to him.. he only waves when santa is not looking.
here are a few random pictures of luke & sara. sara just follows luke everywhere. and luke loves it when she looks at him & smiles/laughs.
( in the last picture luke is telling sara all about how a duck bit his finger while he was throwing bread to them)
luke is always so anxious for sara to wake up so he can play with her. when she wakes up, he excitedly responds, “sara up now”
the other day, i heard luke in my room where sara was sleeping. he was saying “wake up sara”, “please wake up”
we went trick or treating in grandmas neighborhood. there was a block party on her street, so we got some yummy food first.
luke wasn’t much into the whole trick or treating thing at first, but then we caught up with tanner. he quickly got up the momentum after that.
luke didn’t like for people to put his candy in the bag for him. he had to get it himself. so, at some houses luke got a double helping,
